The String Orchestra brings young string players together to learn the skills of ensemble playing.

Minimum standard for NSYO String Orchestra violinists
Scales: C major, G major, D major: 1 octave
Positions: 1st position
Grade: Instrumental Grade 2 to Grade 7/8 or equivalent
Age: 6 years or over

The Sinfonia is an extension group, which enables the more advanced players to tackle more difficult repertoire. Opportunities are regularly given for solo performances for the leaders of the sections and the gifted players in the ensemble. Members of the Sinfonia will be members of both ensembles.

Grade: Instrumental Grade 4 to Grade 7/8 or equivalent

Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays during Public School terms from 4.00pm to 5.00pm  (String Orchestra) and 5:00pm to 5:45pm (Sinfonia) at the Upper Hall of Beecroft Presbyterian Church on Mary Street, Beecroft.
